locomOtion
Commissioned by the City of Ottawa to install public art along the light rail transit line, Stuart Kinmond’s large-scale artwork, entitled locomOtion, is located at the Carleton University O-Train station.
Stretching the length of the 40 meter platform this highly visible piece provides architectural identity and sense of place to the station. The sequence of deconstructed/reconstructed wheels plays with the idea of movement and travel. The reflective red circular shapes, naturally lit by day and by reflected light at night, identifies this place with the logo of the O-train. Completed in 2015
